Our Belief

Every person deserves the chance to thrive

Every teen and adult deserves a supportive environment to gain skills, discover their worth, and step confidently into an independent future.

At PossAbilities Plus, we are breaking the mold of traditional transition centers by offering an integrated, hands-on ecosystem where individuals of all abilities learn, work, and thrive together.

Susan Peters, Founder and Executive Director

Our Beginning

From a classroom coffee shop to a community hub

Driven by a passion to help each student reach their full potential, founder Susan Peters pioneered practical approaches that combined peer mentorship with authentic daily life activities. In one early initiative, she guided her students and peer mentors in opening a classroom coffee shop serving faculty and staff. The impact was transformative: students showed rapid growth in confidence, social dynamics, math capability, and organizational discipline.

That successful blend of real-world practice and peer connection became the foundation of PossAbilities Plus. Founded in 2018 and opening its doors in the fall of 2019, PossAbilities Plus persevered through the pandemic to establish one of the region’s only dedicated vocational and community training hubs serving teens and adults into adulthood.
